The link is empathy. When held together with empathy —difference is honoured with dignity, channels are kept open—they form a dynamic pair: the dam banks (otherness) give shape and direction to the water (flow). They moved from an incoherent group to one that had an aligned purpose and strategy in how to bring their newly co-designed and articulated vision to life. </p><p style="color:inherit;font-size:1em;margin:0 0 1.25em 0;font-weight:normal;font-family:'DejaVu Sans Condensed', 'Liberation Sans', 'Nimbus Sans L', 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;text-align:center;line-height:22px;" class=""><strong>✨ Workshops that use design thinking  and empathy to navigate complex conversations, systemic and cultural  change.</strong></p><p style="color:inherit;font-size:1em;line-height:1.618em;margin:0 0 1.25em 0;font-weight:normal;font-family:'DejaVu Sans Condensed', 'Liberation Sans', 'Nimbus Sans L', 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;text-align:center;" class="">Throughout September, I have presented at a number of events across sectors, who each have their own particular challenges in relation to the empathy deficit:</p><p style="color:inherit;font-size:1em;margin:0 0 1.25em 0;font-weight:normal;font-family:'DejaVu Sans Condensed', 'Liberation Sans', 'Nimbus Sans L', 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;text-align:center;line-height:22px;" class="">Across traditionally male-dominated construction, energy and engineering sectors, the cost of the empathy deficit on women is particularly high -  in relation to mental health, bullying, harassment and women leaving the sector. Empathy centred workplaces are more collaborative, inclusive, respectful and safe.   </p><p style="color:inherit;font-size:1em;margin:0 0 1.25em 0;font-weight:normal;margin-bottom:0;font-family:'DejaVu Sans Condensed', 'Liberation Sans', 'Nimbus Sans L', 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;text-align:center;line-height:22px;" class="">Empathy deficits in accounting and tax manifests as limited understanding of client context (emotional drivers, family needs, stressors, business culture). Empathy led advisory services generate more customised strategies and timely interventions.</p>
